You Can't Ever Get It Back

Once you’ve dug in and forced a situation to change for your own benefit, you have effectively altered it forever.

Once you’ve changed even ONE of the rules, the game has been changed FOREVER.

That’s fine as long as you remember one cold, simple fact…Once it’s gone, you can’t ever get it back.

Even if all is ‘forgiven’ and it appears that life has returned to ‘normal’, it has not.

What you had – and most likely truly loved – will be gone FOREVER.

That will be on YOU and no one else.

Remember this.

Sure, you’ll try to get it back.

You’ll panic when you finally understand what you’ve done, but by then, it’s too late...you can never get it back.

So, you’ll claw even more desperately to get it back, but once it’s gone, you can’t ever get it back. It just won’t work.

And if you con yourself into believing that you got it back, you will only be fooling yourself.

You can never get back what you lost because you changed the rules and at that point, everything is different.

There will always be an underlying wave of distrust and uncertainty that cannot be glossed or painted over.

You can never go back and you will never get it back.

Everything changes with every word and every action – doesn’t matter how small or insignificant YOU believe it is – those simple ripples change everything.

Those changes become permanently implanted and they do not fade away.

You can never go back.

You can’t ever get IT back – whatever ‘IT’ might happen to be.

Remember this.

All of the flatulating nonsense floating around does not hurt anyone but the one spraying it out.

Not one bit of the screaming, hallucinatory garbage without substance, without basis and without any kind of thought will EVER hurt anyone else.

That kind of crap doesn’t ‘break’ people.

It mostly just annoys them.

Sure, you can sadden them for any loss they feel.

Sure, you can bend, dent and even cut them wide open, but you will NEVER ‘break’ them.

If YOU roll the dice and the dots land up just the way you want them, then it is all on you.

You will only hurt YOURSELF.

Have at.

But if THAT’S the way you want it…ok.

You got it.

Just remember this…

Once it’s gone, you can’t ever get it back.

When the players are all long dead and gone, will any of it matter?

Even then, you’ll STILL try to get it back, but you won’t because you can’t.

Sounds silly, but at that point, the real desperation creeps in – that desperate want for ‘what was’.

But it will be gone and it will be gone by your own doing.

Will all of that nonsense make ANY sense then?

Will the sheepish vise-grip hold onto a spoon-fed ideology – that you never even researched or remotely understood – be worth the damage you caused?

Ok…maybe you can even ignore that thought, so here’s one more question…

What did you get in return for your blind, mindless allegiance?

I hope it was something ‘good’ for you personally for all of the destruction you so willingly throw around.

Tell me. I am so interested to know.

The worst part of the entire debacle is that NONE OF IT EVER HAD TO HAPPEN!

It was MADE to happen without ANY thought of the present or toward the future.

But the one and only saving grace of it all?

IT DOES NOT HAVE TO BE THAT WAY!

Just because it started that way, doesn’t mean that it has to go on forever that way and it certainly doesn’t mean that you can’t change it now – BEFORE you lose it.

Maybe a rebuilding can start?

Maybe a friendship can renew in different lighting?

But if you manage to lose it, it WILL be over and gone.

You can never go back.

You can’t ever get IT back.

Remember this.

If the ‘cause’ that you champion is so primally, viciously crucial to your world, then that is the price you WILL pay for your allegiance. That is the only reward. That is all you will be paid for your efforts to destroy that which someone else deems ‘wrong’.

If you can live with that, then I guess you’re all set.
